So far my journey into the world of green smoothies has been a pleasant one. I have to say I was very nervous about doing it. I didn't think they would taste nearly ok. Although, I do love all greens, I was hesitant about putting it into liquid form. However, so far, so good :-) Here is the recipe I made up, it makes two large glasses for Matt and I and about half a cup for Emma (who loves it).
Fill the blender with baby spinach (I used about 5 cups of semi-packed spinach)
turn blender on high and then add enough cold water until it liquefies the spinach (about 3/4 cup for me)
Then I added 1/2 c to 1 c each of frozen strawberries, raspberries, blueberries
I also put in 2 bananas to make it sweet, but yesterday we tried it without the bananas and it was still not bad.
Of course my green smoothie is not green due to the raspberries and blueberries. It is pretty good though. Yesterday I added half a lime juiced into my smoothie to give it a little accidity. I liked that, Matt did not. I definitely recommend it though, delicious! I had this for breakfast and wasn't hungry until the afternoon, so that was nice :-)

Sounds yummy! When I was eating mine (right after Syd was born) I used ONLY spinach and green apples I think? Not so good but these sound really good.
