CSA - what week is this??

Our CSA is still holding on! I am so happy for that! With a CSA, you do end up taking the good and the bad no matter what. I think our farmers have been quite worried with all the rain we have gotten, but we had a nice week last week. When we were walking around the gardens yesterday, it looked to me like everything was growing great. Of course I am comparing it to my own garden...which isn't doing horrible...but definitely not as good as I had hoped for.

So this week we received:

celery
kale
lettuce
the first onion of the season
some type of cabbage
zukes
yellow summer squash
patty pan squash
green garlic

I also picked a bunch of basil and some edible flowers from the PYO in the gardens. They have a ton of PYO that I should be taking advantage of, chamomile, parsley, dill, cilantro, basil, different flowers for tinctures and such, plus bouquet flowers. I was finally able to get some eggs as well, they are so much better fresh from the farm rather than the organic ones I buy at Hannaford.

From this I made my first batch of pesto for the season. We had it last night over pasta (which unfortunately wasn't homemade - yes that means processed dammit - more on that later) Then I also snacked on the pesto with some red pepper, yummy. Anyways, here are some pictures :-)

You got WAY more than we got this week! I don't know why ours is getting so light - but I'll post pictures later. Everything you got looks yummy!

Seriously jealous! It looks delicious. Even though it may not be everything that was expected at this time of year---it's still a good amount for you to enjoy! Yum!
